I think all of us might appreciate ways to make our dollars stretch a little farther without having to compromise our health so I thought I would share this super simple DIY laundry soap recipe that I made last week.
I'm not a big DIY girl because my time always seems to be so fleeting, but this recipe took me a few minutes, start to finish and saves me hundreds of dollars.
HOMEMADE POWDER LAUNDRY SOAP INGREDIENTS:
3 cups borax
3 cups washing soda
3 cups baking soda
2 bars Fels Naptha or for a non-tox version Thieves
Grate bars of soap with cheese grater (I use the grater blade of my food processor)
In a separate large bowl, mix washing soda, baking soda and borax ( minus 1 cup)
In food processor or high powered blender, mix grated soap with 1 cup borax to prevent caking and slowly add essential oils until mixture becomes a powder.
Add all ingredients together well in large bowl then store in an airtight container.
Yields 82 - 164 loads

The quality of essential oils MATTERS. I trust the oils I use because I have visited the farms where they are grown, I have been to the distilleries where they are made and seen the labs where they are processed. They do regenerative farming that is beyond organic. Their quality in unmatched in the field. They do make great laundry soap for those of you that just don't want to do the DIY stuff and adding essential oils only adds to the cleaning power of this recipe.

Purchasing all these ingredients may seem like a bit of a larger upfront cost, but these ingreditents go a very long way and end up being pennies to the dollar in comparison and last a long time.
Here's to not compromising quality for cost! Happy cleaning!
