One of the arguments I hear in support of making abortion legal is that a if a woman wants to get one, she will find a way to make it happen legal or not, so may as well make them legal so it’s performed correctly.
Guys, this is simply not true. I had the privilege of spending the last 5 days with these beauties. My sweet friend @haileyaliff had always known someday she would adopt. 3 years ago this desire became a reality and Emerson joined their family. So check this out, Emerson’s biological Mom was in a rough spot and tried to get an abortion, but was unsuccessful because of the local laws protecting unborn children! 😭🙏🏼🙌🏼
Another amazing fact surrounding this family is that Hailey’s Grandmother had sadly gone through countless abortions, but for some reason, when she got pregnant with Hailey’s Dad, she continued to have a period throughout the whole pregnancy, so she didn’t know she was pregnant. When she began having a tummy that stuck out, and a baby kicking, she went in to a Dr. to get an abortion and they wouldn’t let her because she was too far along. I’m so thankful for that miraculous pregnancy, otherwise my dear friend (and her 3 sisters and numerous grand babies) would not be here today!
I know getting pregnant when you don't feel ready can be a very scary thing. When I found out I was pregnant as a teen, I felt like my world had ended. It wasn't easy, but if I had aborted my oldest twins, I would have missed out on so many learning/growing opportunities and so many incredible moments. Those girls are some of the biggest blessings of my life!
If you have been following my blog, you would know that I was also adopted as an infant, so I know first hand that there are amazing families out there that may not be able to have children or that may want to adopt even though they do have their own children.
One of the greatest gifts that I ever received, was my birth mom giving me a chance to live, even though she couldn't be the one to raise me.
